Let see the essential nutrients and their natural sources, for the healthy growth of body and mind. Protein, vitamins, minerals, carbohydrates and fats are the essential nutrients for good health. They strengthen our immunity system, help fight against diseases, and keep us healthy, fit and strong.Protein ? Protein are essential for the growth, maintenance and regeneration of the body. The main sources of proteins are pulses, milk, eggs, meat etc. Many nutritionists believe that animal proteins are superior and indeed complete food proteins whereas vegetable proteins are inferior and incomplete food proteins. They insist on vegetarians taking plenty of milk so that they can get sufficient amounts of complete food proteins and the body can be maintained at its best. A non-vegetarian diet provides excessive amounts of proteins to the body. And excess of proteins may result in many diseases. This is because ingestion o goji berry benefits f excessive amounts of proteins results in the formation of uric acid, which is harmful to health. Vitamins and Minerals ? Vitamins and minerals perform various important functions in the body. Vitamins are needed for the proper digestion and absorption of proteins, carbohydrates and fats, and the development of the ability of the body to protect itself against diseases. Minerals are needed for the formation and functioning of the cells. These vital substances are necessary for the maintenance of health.Carbohydrates ? Carbohydrates provides heat and energy to the body. The major sources of carbohydrates are cereals, tubers, roots, pulses, milk, etc. One should prefer the use of natural carbohydrates in their natural forms in place of processed carbohydrates. Processing removes the fibers and roughage from the food that results in insufficient elimination of wastes. Toxic substances consequently accumulate in the blood.

If you have been to the grocery store lately, you know that you can’t walk by an isle without reading such labels as “enriched,” “fortified,” “natural,” “Organically grown,” etc. However, these types of product labels are often misleading and false. As a consumer, it is important to explore both sides of the product packaging and to be aware of false food labeling. There are certain key words which we can comfortably trust when it comes down to healthy eating, being aware of what these words are is the key to buying the best products out there. The first group of words which we have to be cautious of include: “fortified,” “enriched,” “added,” “extra,” and “plus.” This could easily mean that certain beneficial nutrients and minerals may have been removed and vitamins were added during the processing. So try to look for foods which are labeled “10 pure acai berry 0% whole,” “high fiber,” and “low sugar.” As far as drinks are concerned, do not buy a product just because it says “fruit drink” on it. There could be little or no real juice in the bottle. Instead look for labels which state “100% fruit juice.” Another key phrase to be aware of is “made with.” Just because a product states that it’s made with something it does not mean that it contains 100% of that ingredient.  So try to look for products that state “whole” or “100%.” Another food label that we are easily fooled by is “natural.” This is often misleading because the company may have started out with a natural product, but after it has been processed it is anything but natural. So try to find products that state “100% all natural” or “no preservatives.” And as far as organics are concerned, look for “certified organically grown” on the packaging.

So heres the dilemma: If its produce, then the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) wants to call it a food. If you use it to heal you in some way, then the FDA wants to call it a drug There is a very fine line in most peoples minds, but any line left between the two the Acai berry has just totally erased. If one plant serves two different needs, such as a root sold as produce that can be used as a healing agent, (Ginseng and Green tea leaves also comes to mind) then we have to be really careful. Naturally wed want it to be regulated so we dont accidentally overdose on it Although I have no idea if a ginseng or green tea overdose would be harmful or not. However, the FDA, who has already approved Mona Vies bottling plants in Utah, is making i acai berry capsules t incredibly difficult for their distributors to sell Mona Vie & other Acai berry juices for their healing properties. I have seen at least two such reports on the FDA website where they have pretty much persecuted distributors of Acai juice blends just because those distributors claimed that their product was healthy. According to the FDAs rules, if you sell something as a food, you cannot claim it has the power to heal anything. You are not even allowed to infer that consuming it can bring you better overall health. Its either a just food in their eyes, or a drug, which must be monitored and well-tested. The Acai berry fits right in the no-mans land for the FDA, and it is even more difficult for them that Acai doesnt grow in the USA.
